Foundations Music Academy
Policies
effective now through August 2021
Tuition
- Tuition is based on a 16-week semester, and enrollment is for the full 16 weeks.
- Lessons are offered weekly in 45 to 60 minutes lengths (depending on type and as recommended by instructor)
- The semester schedule, including lessons, holidays, studio closures and events, is located in the Student Portal.
Summer
- During the summer, FMA offers lesson packages that may be scheduled June-July.
- Students enrolled in a summer session will be given the opportunity to register early for the fall semester, reserving their spot in the studio.
Billing
- Tuition payments are due on the 1st of the month (depending on payment plan).
- The student may choose a credit/debit card or bank account to be automatically billed through the Student Portal.
- As a courtesy, students will be invoiced 7 days before a tuition payment is charged.
- No refunds may be issued once a payment is made.
Fees and Late Payments
- $50 registration fee - due at registration, per family.
- Any additional fees for music books or piano events will be assessed as needed throughout the year.
- $25 late fee - if a tuition payment fails, the student will be notified by email. Payments received after the 7th of the month will be charged the late fee.
- Failure to make tuition payments will result in the loss of the student's reserved lesson time and place in the studio. The student will be billed for any outstanding balance and fees.
- In cases of financial difficulty, please feel free to contact your instructor to discuss options that may be available to you!
Attendance
- In the event of a missed in-person lesson, students may make use of the studio swap list, or attend the lesson at it's scheduled time via video chat.
- Students who attend lessons while ill will be sent home. (Fever within the last 72 hours, vomiting, coughing, head cold, etc.)
- If a student is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, waiting on COVID-19 results, or has been exposed to someone with COVID-19 or who is awaiting COVID-19 results, please contact your instructor. Lessons will be moved to video chat.
- Students should let their instructor know in advance if they will miss a lesson (for any reason!)
- Any lesson missed as a result of teacher absence will be rescheduled.
Health
- Students should wait outside until their lesson time, and may ring the doorbell when it is their time.
- Students will be required to wash hands upon entering the studio, as well as after their lesson.
- Students may wear masks if desired.
- The studio and piano will be sanitized between lessons and throughout the day.
Lessons
- Students may park in the driveway, making sure to keep the cul-de-sac and neighboring driveways open.
- Lessons cannot be extended for late arrivals.
- The studio is located inside a private home, so family and friends should remain outside for the duration of the student's lesson. (Parents of younger students may be asked to attend lessons for the student's success).

- Children should not be left at the studio/home unattended.
- Responsibility cannot be take from the safety of the student outside of their lesson time, or any family members/friends that may accompany the student to lessons.
